Yes, and when the various National Academies of Sciences of the various nations that are doing the nth check of the IPCC and comes back with the conclusion that the basic science is sound, even if the process is not 100% perfect and allows in a small percentage of un-peer-reviewed pieces of information, the right-o-sphere will just reject the result.

It is very, very similar to dealing with creationists. If you are one of those dreaded materialists then simply your data won’t matter.

Cognitive-dissonance, if indeed it is a real human phenomenon (and not just a catchy phrase) exists because it is somehow beneficial to the species. Fighting it then would probably be a waste of time.

We have to find a way around it.
