I mean damn man I look at people who are considered conservatives in Europe like the Tories in the UK and I really think that they’d be seen as moderates or even liberals here. I still like the PM Cameron quote- not pro gay marriage in spite of my conservatism but because of it. American conservatives are more reactionary than conservative.

I was recently in a “discussion” with a British leftie who argued that the entire American political spectrum was a battle between the Far Right and the Far Far Right. I disagreed with him, but he made (unintentionally) a point about perspective and relative leanings that shouldn’t be ignored.
