Plenty of Central and South American people who are indigenous (and probably don’t speak, read or write standard Spanish to this day) believe color is still a huge barrier in their countries, as Evo Morales and Hugo Chavez keep saying. But Brazil’s Lula is equally racist, saying the global meltdown was caused by blond blue eyed people.

I don’t know for sure. But the US still has the most social, economic and personal mobility for people of all colors, races, creeds.
