A thought comes to mind. I was one of those that applauded President Bush when early on in his first administration he tried doing something about social security and privatizing part of it. Of course he was pilloried for it and it came to nothing but in retrospect, based on what’s happening to the markets, I’m wondering if maybe the intent, while good, was flawed.
I really don’t know. I’m not smart enough economicallyto figure it out.
