Meaning that, if true, once Trump denied any ties to Russia they had leverage over him. Which, yes, we already knew when the Trump Tower Moscow deal came to light, but this would be more proof of Trump’s repeated flagrant lies when it comes to Russian influence.

Also, if there are co-signers there are probably contingency side contracts in play.
