Possibly, because of the baggage that she has in regards to her ties to GW Bush.
However, her own statements have placed her much closer to the political center because of her own history with overt racism in Alabama, and the fact that she is much more in the pro-choice camp than pretty much all of the current field of Republican presidential candidates. In todays’s Republican Party, she wouldn’t get past the primaries, but if she did, in my opinion she would fare much, much better than Cain in a general election.

Well, she’s also a lot smarter than him. And probably doesn’t go around groping women.

The better comparison would be how she would stack up against Romney. I think given the choice, the confederates would go with him in a hot minute.
