Peters resigns and drops a letter claiming that he’s ashamed of Fox and the toxic landscape there that he helped shape.

In particular, if I were to fisk this particular missive by Peters, I’d start by indicating that Peters was at the forefront of assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers.

As a Russia analyst for many years, it also has appalled me that hosts who made their reputations as super-patriots and who, justifiably, savaged President Obama for his duplicitous folly with Putin, now advance Putin’s agenda by making light of Russian penetration of our elections and the Trump campaign.

Peters was one of those same “patriots”.

To me, Fox News is now wittingly harming our system of government for profit.

It was doing this all through the Obama years (and Clinton years before that) - attacking both Obama and Clinton because they were Democrats - assisting in the nonstop obstruction of Obama policies that included preventing Obama from having his Supreme Court nominee have his hearings and a confirmation vote.

The Fox News crowd cheered this subversion of the system and destruction of the comity in the Senate to give the president the ability to nominate and have advise and consent of the Senate. GOP made up bullshit claims to prevent Obama judicial nominees from being even considered.
