It’s the Vietnam issue they have with Kerry.

Oddly enough, Gore volunteered and served in Vietnam, even though he was against the war, because if he went, it would be one less man to be drafted. You don’t hear the Right talk about that at all.

I remember. Oh boy do I.

If I’m right though, this isn’t really about Gore or Kerry— the ongoing hate for a failed POTUS candidate. It’s the expression of the right’s need for an Emmanual Goldstein figure. If only the Two Minute Hate were two minutes, and not years.
If that’s true, then if it hadn’t been Vietnam as an excuse to hate Kerry, it would have been something else. If Gore hadn’t had AGW as an issue, it’d still be something else.

That’s my suspicion, anyway. I would like to be wrong, but I don’t think I am. The culmination of this thinking is the full out shrieking meltdown over Obama.
Rove promised them a ‘permanent majority’. They’re outraged, outraged, to have lost.
