I don’t buy your answer, in this regard.
I respectfully suggest you aren’t understanding cultural norms in Scandinavia. There’s nothing even a little bit weird about living with your parents as an adult there. It’s completely normal.
I just don’t think it was a factor in his mind. I don’t think it was even a factor in his thinking, any more than his choice of brand of spatula.
