Let’s be realistic, things didn’t really start going sideways for the GOP until last week. Prior to that, they could tell themselves that the slow grind of the Congressional investigations would mean that nothing would happen before they got their legislative agenda passed. Then Trump fired Comey and it’s just been downhill from there.

Honestly, I think we’re about two years into it. But as far as McConnell sees it, you’re absolutely correct. And I’d give a penny for his thoughts.
