On my FB feed now, otherwise well-meaning folks are basically saying that “they” can protest other times, but not during the National Anthem.

My response:

Respectfully - if the flag stands for the promise of freedom and justice, but if a significant portion of our fellow Americans look at the repeated instances of unarmed black people shot by police who then suffer no punishment and believe that they are denied that promise of justice, how and where do you propose they protest?
