Because some people want to listen to him. It’s not for me to decide what other people listen to. I don’t think it’s a good idea to drive hateful ideas underground. It doesn’t make them go away. The europeans make it illegal to deny the holocaust but the deniers are still around. Banning books and ideas doesn’t work. I can’t think of a historical example where it did work.

Except most people are not saying “Force him off the air!” What is being said is “If you want our business, you’d better not associate with this guy.” Granted, this can be and often has been abused for ill means, but that doesn’t mean the idea itself is wrong.

Let’s replace Rush with something even more offensive. Should there be no backlash for sponsoring, say, a KKK rally or Neo-Nazis or Stalinists or something? And yes, I know the last one doesn’t make a lot of sense.
