I do the long o with the weird swallow thing like the upper Midwest/Canadian accent if I’m exposed or think about it. (“Sooo-da. Doooncha know.”)

There’s probably a proper way to describe this but.

I read somewhere that the many Norwegians and Swedes who immigrated to those parts of North America were the origin of that particular sound, among others. “Oh yah” — as referenced in the movie Fargo — is one o’dem, too, you betcha.
