I’m never sure whether these people are simply morons if they think that they can stop a constitutional convention at a single amendment or if they’re evil because they’re bullshitting people into believing that’s the only thing they want to add to the constitution.

Let’s also say how fucking STUPID a balanced budget amendment is.

No borrowing would mean we can’t be the world’s reserve currency anymore. Also… how the fuck would we have ever built the transcontinental railroad, or won WWII, without borrowing? How could anybody you know ever buy a house (or even cars FFS) or send their kids to college if borrowing was seen as fiscally wrong? How would companies get off the ground? How would there be any capital investments in ANYTHING?
