So, I pulled out my telescope. In addition to seeing Jupiter and Saturn, I found globular cluster M70, and then looked up what that meant. It’s a group of stars in orbit around the Milky Way, about 35K light years from earth.

It’s a beautiful sight in binoculars. Summer visible in the mid latitudes of the Northern hemisphere, I used to drive up to the mountains with my binos to go star gazing and would appreciate M70 for its grandeur.
