The best advice to SC, NC, and VA residents along the coast is to get to higher ground to avoid storm surge. But even that wont be enough as the storm is expected to drop 20-30 inches in areas across the Southeast because the storm is expected to stall out.

That’s real bad.

But not nearly as bad as thinking prayer will keep you alive in those circumstances.
