Not the same thing. I mean…look how good GOPers have been at forcing everyone to accept their framing. They, as Karl Rove so infamously put it, “create their own reality” (of course it helps that they’re playing to classic power sources like wealth and white supremacy, but even though it’s harder for Dems, it’s definitely not impossible - there’s a reason AOC has perhaps the highest profile of any new member of Congress, and why Fox news/GOPers perceive her as such a threat and go out of their way to demonize her. It’s not because they think they can use her to make the Dem party look bad, it’s because they fear her true message could erode their own base).
