The reason I was hoping someone like Bush I or Bush II would step up, is that no one else in the Republican party is doing so. We have a party which has become the home of death panels, snow storms in January disprove AGW while record heat waves don’t get a mention, latent and not-so-latent racism, wanting to re-write the Constitution right and left, and now this mosque controversy.

McConnell, McCain, Boehner - all of them are diving for the bottom. If the current leaders of the Republican party don’t take a stand on principal, and the former ones won’t, then what?
