Huntsman is running for the 2016 nomination. He can’t win this one, though he should. If, however, the Republicans nominate a hapless loser who finds a path to defeat, that might, just might, be a lesson to Republican primary voters: don’t dumpster dive for candidates.

Huntsman speaks several languages, knows some science or at least recognizes that scientists know some science, and he’s been ambassador to China.

One party rule never works for long. The temptations are just irresistible. Sooner or later, the Republicans are going to have a scandal to run against that’s so juicy they’re bound to win. When that day comes, there needs to be a grownup at the helm of the Republican party. Huntsman could be that grownup.
