Gus, we obviously disagree about the necessity of the federal government to intervene in what I consider peoples private dealings with each other. I would like to at least mention I appreciate and understand your argument even though I believe it to be wrong. You brought up religion so let me explain my stance on the morality of the situation.

I don’t like racists but I don’t see this as strictly a racial issue. It’s an issue about the freedom of the people to deal with others as they see fit. I don’t believe my moral beliefs should compel others to do exactly as I say just because I’m part of the majority. Look at it from the flip side. For example, lets say Charles starts his own photography side business and a bigoted church leader came to him wanting him to film a Klan rally for some propaganda pieces. If he refused it could easily be argued that he is violating their civil rights. Under your theory of government the feds would be within their rights to either force him to do something he vehemently doesn’t want any part of or face jail and a fine. I think that’s wrong, immoral and wrong. Forcing people to accept others is, IMHO, misguided.

I don’t think anyone in the political realm is saying the law should be reversed. I’m arguing philosophy not politics.
