Post 9/11 trauma was/is a real thing. I had it, I suspect Charles had it. These things can be recovered from, after they lead you astray. That said, I came for the bike posts, I stay for the politics. The feminism is one of the most attractive parts.

Yes. A lot of people seem to have the mistaken impression that I was a lifelong Republican who “suddenly” flipped and became a liberal. That’s not correct. In fact, I voted Democrat in every presidential election, and my politics were very much to the left, until 9/11.

The reality is that throwing off my 9/11 trauma was for me a return to the same political views I’d always had.
