I agree that the “crazy right” isn’t as big as some on the left would have it. But I would definitely still argue that the crazy right has been energized since the election in a way I haven’t seen in many years. And Beck has mainstreamed conspiracy nuttiness in ways that can’t be good. I know people who believe patently false nonsense b/c they “heard it on good authority” from either Beck or a Beck type of entertainer. These are people who, in years past, have been generally mainstream in their thinking. That’s my concern. And btw, all of this applies just as equally to the looney left.

nobody knows if Beck mainstreamed anything…his show and net blogs hardly reflect all of conservative America…wait and see next election cycle…until then talk of mainstreaming is hyperbole imo
