There probably are a lot of people on this thread not born when we had the Carter administration. Trust me, it was bad. The stock market was in the toilet (sound familiar) the only way you could get a loan was to pay loan shark rates. You could not buy gasoline any time you wanted, you had to go every other day, wait in line and buy a couple of gallons.

And the music sucked too.
