I never got why the McVeigh-White Supremacist angle never got legs in the media. For fact he was a pimp for the Turner Diaries and other racist trash.

In regards to the excommunication topic, I was under the impression that according to Catholic theology that if one was excommunicated they were not able to fulfill those rituals that prevented one from lapsing into apostasy. Essentially those that were excommunicated were sentenced to hell.
