As for being “nearly as anti-Semitic as the Germans,” that doesn’t really square with Poland having the largest population of Jews of any European nation prior to WW2.

Perhaps a bit hyperbolic there, but one major reason they had so many Jews is that Poland was within the Pale of Settlement, as Jews were banned from owning land in Russia
