re: #58 Targetpractice

You’re thinking too logically, you gotta employ wingnut logic, which says that if US companies just made things in the US, then the companies to produce the raw materials would just spring up overnight to meet the need. In this fantasy land, there’s a wealth of unused production capacity that could just be turned on with the flip of a switch, the workers who were fired coming back in to put the mills and foundries back at full capacity in a matter of days or weeks. That old factories will be brought back online and start churning out “Made in the USA!” products overnight because it’ll be “cheaper” than the cost of importing products produced overseas.

Of course, in this magical land, there’s legions of unemployed workers with the skills and knowledge to do all this, which is totally contrary to the “BEST ECONOMY EVAH!!!!” fantasy they want to believe at the same time.

Cause we have absolutely every raw-raw material and can just dig up out of the ground right? //
