The only part of the photo I don’t care for is Joe Biden saluting. He has never served in the military, and saluting is a specific military mark of recognition (including of civilian leaders).

My position on the military being subservient to the civilian government has been made clear here before, so I won’t go into that again, except to say that if Mr. Biden wanted to show a patriotic image whilst he was at the war memorial in Delaware, that is addressed in Title 36 - PATRIOTIC SOCIETIES AND OBSERVANCES: CHAPTER 10 - PATRIOTIC CUSTOMS

The correct display would be the right hand over the heart (as in the Pledge of Allegiance) for a civilian leader.

I’m pretty sure this was stupid shit that Reagan started, because he was dumb-ish and was trying to out-patriot everyone else. Unfortunately it “stuck” and people just expect it now. If a Democratic President tries to kill it, everyone to the right of Obama will be losing their shit, howling at the moon, and demanding a Benghazi-like show trial. Just watch. Remember the meltdown they had over the Marine and the Umbrella. JHC.
