re: #56 Targetpractice

I’m willing to meet them halfway: They can enjoy the freedom to be bigoted assholes, but they will do so without federal support of any kind. Not a single federal dollar will go to their organizations and they will not be able to participate in federal programs. If they are not happy with that, then they can abide by the same rules that everybody else does under the 1A. Now put that in your pipe and smoke it, padre.

That’s what they are complaining about. Mr. Becerra’s office promulgated new rules revoking religious group waivers saying they cannot discriminate on adoptions by legally-married LGBT couples. The Bishop of Tyler, Texas is complaining they can’t have tax-free bigotry.

As for the Catechism itself, that says religious liberty is a natural right, but adds it has inherent limits and should be determined for the common good as defined by civil authority.

So Bishop Strickland probably ought to read his own Catechism.

“More brokenness from so[-]called Catholics,” Strickland told Fox News. He added that “maybe we should send him a Catechism.”
