Its the same thing as Antebellum ‘states rights’.

If you’re pissed at the government for telling you you can’t discriminate its easy to segue from that to a position that the government shouldn’t have anything to do with anything. Also has a greater appearance of acceptability.

NOTE: I am not saying that libertarians are automatically southern or racist. I’m just saying that going from a pro-segregation position lends itself to libertarianism once the Feds get involved.
