True. That’s an area we haven’t gone into much on this blog, American sentiment on entry into World War II prior to Pearl Harbor.

I suppose I’d answer by pointing out that many of those who were pro-war were segregationist Southern Democrats, making it possible to say that FDR was only able to get Lend-Lease passed with the support of raving racists.

But there remains the fact that I think Lend-Lease was the right policy and that America-First was wrong.
