There’s an absolutely stunning documentary called Mythos Wald by a German filmmaker named Jan Haft. I saw the full 90 min. HD version with English voice-over on YouTube last year, so I know it’s out there somewhere, but I can’t find it anywhere right now (it’s long gone from YouTube).
It’s reminiscent of the BBC’s Planet Earth series narrated by Attenborough, though obviously much shorter in duration. The visuals though, OMG—the forests really make you see where all the European fairy tales came from—I’m sure your grandkids would love it, so grab it if you ever run across the English version.
Oh, wait. I take that back. Here it is in 2 parts, but it’s ruined by a Russian narrator talking over the voice of the German one. *sigh* Still, you’ll be able to see how amazing the video is.
