I’ve had this idea of writing a short story set in the Spanish Civil War about two friends who join the opposing sides. I haven’t really given ti too much though since I don’t know enough about the Spanish Civil War to write such a story.

For Whom the Bells Toll by Ernest Hemingway might be good for inspiration. It follows an American fighting for the Republicans, but I don’t know how historically accurate it is, though.
