#2 is the really difficult one, because the objections come from irrational meat-bags who overestimate their own driving skills.

That may be, but I don’t trust the safety-factor or self-driving cars for purely technical reason: it IS “technology”, and thus prone to breakdowns, glitches, errors, hacks: it’s bad enough when sh*t happens to your laptop or cellphone: I’d rather it not happen to a metal box I’m riding around in at high speed.

Also: I will confess that my ideas about self-driving cars were reinforced by the scene in the last episode of Season 1 of Extant: where Goran Visnijc’s character is murdered by The Sinister Conspiracy who hack the controls of his self-driving taxi, and then stall it on a train track with the doors locked….
