As I said, I think a lot of them ignore how wide the overlap between civilian and military/police weaponry has grown not just since the writing of the 2nd amendment but over the last century even. Does anyone in their right mind think that a civilian should be able to purchase a bazooka for use or a howitzer. As I said, there’s a lot of common sense lacking here and it comes from the NRA and like minded groups spreading paranoia to gun-owners whenever something like what happened on Monday happens. The NRA has been pulling this “They’re out to get your guns” for as long as I can remember and yet gun ownership keeps on increasing more and more.

“They” need that military firepower so they will be able to protect themselves when Obama orders the military to fire on citizens.

I sincerely wish I was joking about that explanation…
