It’s parallel to what I’ve been reading on twitter from various black and native American folks: It’s not my responsibility to teach you about my culture.

Some people want to teach, of course. Others are tired of being asked elementary, mundane, or personal questions.

Maybe you hadn’t thought of it because you’re not black or native American. /////////////

It certainly is not our (or any proponent of decency and dignity and education) duty to have to educate others who willfully choose not to educate themselves.

we are better off for the effort though.
