I ran into the ex husband of my girlfriend at a Superbowl party at the local tavern. He said “I should shoot you for bringing that bitch back into the neighborhood.”
I had shown up as part of the emergency crew at his house after he had nearly killed her by beating her with a piece of firewood. She almost had her ear cutoff and suffered numerous other injuries including PTSD and severe disabling depression.
Any inconveniences and threats I’ve suffered as a result greatly pale in comparison to her injuries but I am affected too as now I feel I need to be cautious in my own neighborhood and carry protection against a person who threatened to kill my GF if she ever enabled the State to take away his guns.
