Revealing your strategy or strategies before the trial is a bad move IMO. One of the defense’s few advantages is that they don’t have to give the prosecution anything, so why do it?

They may be throwing Martyr Cookies to the wingnuts, so that she can be painted as the “VICTIM OF GOVERNMENT RAILROADING!!!11” when she gets convicted.
