I don’t know about you, but when I’ve gone into thrift stores looking for a bargain, there aren’t many to be had in the way of clothing. I can get something new for the same price at a thrift store from sales at Target, Wal-Mart, Kohl’s, and even some of the big department stores.
What a dickhead.
The point isn’t to save money. The point is to force these children to enact their own permanent second-class status via second-hand clothing, so they can get used to it.
I remember when I took my older kids clothes-shopping for the first time, at a bazaar in Kazakhstan. They couldn’t believe they were getting NEW clothing. They’d never had any before, living in the orphanage. It was a huge big deal.
That was in Kazakhstan! Are we trying to become Kazakhstan??
