Big Pharma would be the big loser, with the prison-industrial complex a close second. The amount of money involved in both legal and illegal drugs makes this the most entrenched stupidity we have, I think. Any changes would mean somebody’s cash flow gets cut off, so they spread their cash around to prevent changes.

Not sure about Big Pharma being the big loser. The private prisons and the DEA would be most damaged. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of people.
This is such a no-brainer. 20 years after pot is legalized, people will look back in amazement at this absurd 80+ year prohibition.

I’ve never smoked pot in my life, and I don’t intend to start even if it were legal, but the costs of prohibition are prohibitive.
