ggt - that statement has always bothered me too. It is up there with another one that goes like, “abortion is ok but should never be used in place of birth control,” which strikes me as equally bizarre.
I’m pro-choice just as I’m an atheist, but both labels really don’t describe my views and are just easily accessible labels.
I haven’t been asked about abortion in person for a very, very long time, but the last time I recall being asked it went something like this, ” yeah, I support women getting abortions, just like I support people getting root canals and plastic surgery. It’s their body and a medical procedure.”
