This is very similar in many respects to the conclusions I’ve reached, as described in this post this morning.
I peeled another layer from the onion of denial though, and concluded that the choice of arms indicates not just a desire to stop the hordes of “others,” but to exterminate them completely.

That’s a wild misreading of the mindset of the average gun owner. Do you realize what you’re saying? There are something like 300 million firearms in this country. At least 50 million owners. The gun murder rate is roughly 11000 a year, and many of those are murders that stem from a gang war or a domestic dispute, and so are very unlikely to be white-on-black. Looking at the actions of these scores of millions of gun owners, there is no sign of any designs for genocide.
