The true ugliness of the right is never far from the louder voices in the gun lobby. Paranoia, hatred and misguided feelings of oppression go hand in hand with screaming about needing more guns (and fantasies about using them against the government, blacks, Jews, gays etc…).

I do feel sorry for the sane and sensible gun owners out there who are just into things like hunting or target shooting. I feel sorry for them, because the people who are representing guns are the most hateful and delusional members of the right, and many people are going to automatically make the association.
