I really think it was the repetition of mindless right wing pap that gave him cotton mouth. Even if he had been fully hydrated, the speech was about as memorable as phone book - the same old clichs. Big government bad. Obama secretly hates free enterprise. Rinse. Repeat.

It was a completely forgettable speech, one that you could tell he didn’t have any real input in. My guess is he didn’t even see it until the day of.
