So, I’m just becoming aware of this.

I don’t follow sports, never did, after so much exposure in HS in Floriduh where they were treated like heroes (I don’t think that’s changed much). I always saw athletes mostly as testosterone-fueled, over-privileged types who mostly couldn’t keep up academically, yet got a lot of scholarships. Sure, we girls had mandatory “phys ed”, but no organized sports. I know that’s changed to some degree, but women’s sports are still seen as second class.

I don’t want to lump all athletes into this category, but “dumb jock” really does apply to Riley Cooper.
