i keep seeing these things on FB, people trying to make nice between Trump voters and the rest of us, as if the whole thing is just about nice people disagreeing over a sporting event. I am seriously tired of that shit.

So here’s how I replied to one of them, this morning:

Over the past year and a half, I watched as Trump said a man who spent 5 years being tortured in a Hanoi POW camp wasn’t a hero, because he got captured. I watched him attack an American judge saying he would be unable to do his job fairly because his parents were Mexican. I watched him attack a Gold Star family for daring to disagree with him. I watched him attack women for daring to talk back to him. I watched him promise to ban an entire religion from entering the US. I watched him lie, and lie, and lie, and lie. I watched him encourage violence from his followers against any dissent. We all saw it. If you voted for Trump, you may not be racist, misogynistic, or hateful, but you were completely okay with choosing a President who is all of those things and more. This has taught me that America is not what I thought, that Americans are not WHO I thought.
