This is a photo by Pittsburgh Courier photographer “Teenie” Williams, circa 1949. The Courier was the nationally-important Pittsburgh AA paper. We got to see a show of his PGH jazz legends at the Carnegie Museum of Art this month. Might do a page on him.

Didn’t know Republicans were jerks way back then. I thought they went bad after the Civil Rights Movement forced them to play nice with the Blacks.
