Paxton’s thinking is based in the belief that nobody who is REALLY a “Law-Abiding Gun Owner” will EVER become a “Criminal”. Those who are “Criminal” are and always have been “Criminals”, no matter whether they’ve ever broken laws or not.

And once someone who SEEMED to have been a “Law-Abiding Gun Owner” opens up on a crowd of strangers with his legally-obtained firearms, he instantly and retroactively becomes a “Criminal”, who could not have been restrained by any legal means.
