re: #16 plansbandc
I do not understand. I will never understand. But basically, and I would like to think this is bullshit but itâs not, Republicans want my dude and me to die. Sooner rather than later. And the punch line is, my dude and I are fish belly white. He is a civil engineer. I am a god damn fucking housewife and white as all hell. But hey! The garbage person pretending to be President doesnât give a ratâs ass about us.
A lot of people ask âwhy do Republican voters vote against their own interests?â (Why would they vote for tax cuts to schools, billionaires, against their own healthcare, &c).
An example of this was a recent discussion I had at our village fire hall from a resident here, who was complaining about âliberalsâ (remember, Iâm one of the âgood onesâ in my town) calling Trump voters racist. He thought that was unfair.
Now I will grant you in my corner of nowhere there are probably quite a number of people who donât know about such things as Trumpâs housing discrimination case, or even more recent things such as his attacks on Judge Curiel or even his attempts at banning Muslims, especially given the media climate where I live. I would not necessarily categorise those people as racist, just uninformed.
But for those who knew all that and still pulled the lever for Mr. Trump with a proud statement of âthatâs my guy,â yeah, if you support a racist for his racist statements and actions, that makes you a racist.
As for those in general who support the GOP when they come for their kidâs education or their own healthcare, they are not voting against their interest. They are voting for racism. That is their interest.
