Yes, but the pace of mental deterioration is also worsening rapidly. I’ve said before that I don’t see how he can last another year just because he’s visibly falling apart under the stress of failure and narcissistic injury. The real problem is how easily our society became slowly inured to this level of craziness through some kind of process of pathological mithradatism. Every week now something comes to light that would have been unthinkable and devastating to his poll numbers in the beginning, but over time the process of seeing no consequences from scandal after scandal because of GOP co-conspiracy has created a kind of sociological scar tissue to keep just enough people in line. Also, the “both sides” media coverage of this insane bullshit has been abominable.

However, again, the trajectory is so obviously fucking bad now that I don’t see how this can be a long term stable state of play.
