re: #51 Hecuba’s daughter

Most here are dismissive of efforts by Biden to reach out to Republicans, but it does not hurt for him to talk to those who did not challenge the electoral votes. At least they are legislators who are tethered to reality and support the Constitution (except for McConnell). It would be great if there were some way to expel the 8 Senators who betrayed their oath (and Ron Johnson) and most of the House members who did the same, especially McCarthy, Scalise, Nunes, Jordan, Gaetz, Boebert, Greene, Gohmert, Miller, and Cawthorn. But that’s not likely to happen.

Biden shouldn’t constrain himself by what GOP legislators demand, but it would allow him the opportunity to try to rebuild some semblance of comity and start deprogramming the 74 million Americans who thought that Trump deserved another term.

I don’t expect it to work, but he does have to try. And he has Obama’s experience to remind him that he shouldn’t waste his time after they turn him down once.

I understand that the House members who voted to challenge the election will be frozen out — can’t introduce bills, won’t get committee memberships. I don’t know what, if anything can be done about Senators.
